Our Place & Hours

Our brew house was originally constructed in 1905 for the newly formed Hazelwood Brewing Co. The successful brewery operated until 1920 when America’s experiment with Prohibition forced its closure. The building deteriorated over the following decades and was severely damaged by a tornado in 1998. But in 2018, The Progress Fund, a nonprofit organization, purchased the building and began its rehabilitation for use again as a home for local brewing.

The redevelopment project involved reimagining the site as a hub of excellence for the local brewing industry. Rather than just one, the site is now home to three independent local breweries and a cafe to serve their visitors. The 20,000 square foot restored historic landmark opened to the public in June 2024. Check HISTORY for the chronology of the building, past companies, and recent rehabilitation.

The Brew House is the main production facility for all three breweries which have separate brew houses on the 1st Floor and storage on the 2nd Floor.

Visitors are welcomed throughout the site including multiple taprooms and seating areas inside and out. Our elevator and two staircases provide access to all levels of the Brew House.

Our 3rd Floor has seating and space for 220 people which can choose their favorite drinks from each of the three breweries with their separate bar and tap service. The 3rd Floor and enclosed Mezzanine above have large windows with commanding views of our neighborhood and City.

If you like being outside, our place is special. During the fair weather of Spring, Summer and Fall, our rooftop seating and beer garden come alive. All three of our breweries have their own tap rooms lined up along the beer garden which makes it easy for visitors to grab a drink from their nearby tables. Yes, the beer garden is dog friendly. If you like a great view, our rooftop seats over 70 people and looks over Hazelwood, the new Steelers Football field and up to the University District.

All of our furniture and tables inside and out are made locally with wood and steel from Pittsburgh. Come grab a seat, relax and enjoy the views. We look forward to your visit!
